Former member of Remedies, Eedris Abdulkareem, is back. The rapper
has just released three new singles. The first of the new songs is Fela.
The song, a fast tempo rap with a lot of saxophone and horns, hit you
hard. It is a bitter reality track dedicated to the late Abami Eda, with
lyrics citing some still relevant issues in the society which Fela
talked about. Afrobeat star, Femi Anikulapo-Kuti was featured in the
song.
The second track, Shekere, features rap star, Vector, and
Midi of Jukebox. It is a party track which is laced with flow like the
Waka Wiki MC that Eedris is known for. While the third track, New Edo,
is more of a project song in reference to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole,
governor of Edo State.
All the songs already released are enjoying
more downloads online. Fela and Shekere were produced by Soso Beat,
while New Edo is produced by Nasty Bit.
Eedris has been off and on
the music scene. He told P.M.NEWS Showbiz Trends a couple of
months ago that he was in the studio working hard on some songs that
will re-establish his presence on the Nigerian hip-hop scene.
